Tuesday Intermediate
June 17 - July 8
Tuesday
6:00 - 9:00
In this intermediate class we will pay special attention to trimming. You will improve your skills by spending more time practicing and closely observing how trimming can radically change the form. We will also continue working on two part forms composed of a body/platter and lid (butterdish, garlic keeper, jar ect.) Attention will be given to the introduction of a gallery for a snug fitting lid. We will focus on different shaping techniques and foot methods. Independent project desires are also welcome! More attention will be given to decorating techniques such as paper resist, mishima and sgraffito.
This class is best suited for those who have prior experience throwing.
Classes are small in size (4/5 people) which allows students to accelerate faster with more one on one instruction. The first three weeks will consist of creating and trimming, followed by a glazing and decorating week 4. The course will include 6 lbs of clay and tools. Please note a $50 deposit is required to reserve your spot, the balance of $215 is payable on the first week of class.
This class includes access to an open studio slot Sunday mornings for an additional $100. Reach out for more info!
